On Saturday 18th June from 11-6pm, we’re throwing a one day, fun climbing comp to thank all of you who’ve made Substation a community.

Tickets are on sale now for £20 / £10 for Members / £13 Concessions & Under 18’s / £5 for Founding Members.

These tickets are limited and will sell out quickly, grab yours before they go.

The ticket price includes all-day access to the climbing comp, at least one workshop, loads of fun challenges, giveaways, music, yoga and more.

Climbing Comp

The climbing comp will be 20 blocs set by our head setters.

These are the categories:

Female Juniors (under 14 years)
Male Juniors (under 14 years)

Workshops

We have a load of free workshops you can sign up for on the day:

Michaela Tracy – How to read comp problems.
Fresh from coming in second place at the Climbing Works International Festival, Michaela knows how to climb a problem better than most. She’ll be imparting her wisdom on how to draw on all the available information so that you climb, better, easier and quicker – just what you need in a competition, at the wall or out on real rock.

Special Guest – Crack climbing workshop
We’ve got a special treat lined up from one of the UK’s dark horses of crack climbing. If you want to learn how to jam for your next trip to the peaks, then this is the workshop for you. This will be aimed at beginners but will also cover some more advanced tips and tricks.

Injury prevention workshop: From the legend himself! Cris Costa has been a physio to all of the climbing stars, including Neil Gresham, Louis Parkinson and Molly Thompson-Smith; he’ll be giving advice on how to look after your body when dealing with the stress climbing can put it through.

Mobility workshops: Our yoga team will be running mobility exercises during the day to keep you limber, strong and injury-free for climbing.

We’ll also have campus competitions on Roofus, a combination dyno challenge, pad stacking and some ways to win beer – more on that later!

Workshop Headliner – Louis Parkinson

To headline the day, we have the one and only Louis Parkinson running a dynamic workshop:

“Known worldwide for his energetic and dynamic climbing style, Louis Parkinson is a former member of the GB climbing team and has been coaching for over a decade. During this 60 minute workshop, Louis will share the tips, tricks and movement drills he has developed over the years to improve the use of momentum in climbing – a great way to amplify your existing strength to float and dance your way up all your future boulders too!”

This is the only workshop that is a bolt-on. These sessions will cost £25 on top of the ticket price. You have to buy a day ticket to come to the workshop.
